Learn all the techniques, tips and tricks to get you started on knitting the Emotional Support Chicken, dreamed up and written down by Annette Corsino.
Class Dates
Saturday, August 23rd - 10:30am-1:30pm
What to Expect
You will not complete the emotion support chicken in this class, instead you will be given the techniques to confidently work this pattern on your own. Your instructor will first go over yarn & color choices + needle selection. Then, teach you the techniques used in the pattern like short rows shaping, garter mattress stitch, and binding off & casting on. During the class you can practice these techniques with scrap yarn, or get straight into your first chicken!
Required Experience
This is an intermediate knitting class. Must be comfortable knitting & purling on your own without instruction
Required Materials/Tools
Bring your own needles and yarn for this project! Just bring any scrap yarn to practice OR feel free to bring the yarn you would love to make a chicken with. If you need help choosing yarn or needles send us an email!
(Some tips for choosing: Pattern is written for worsted weight yarn, but can be knitted in any yarn weight with corresponding needles. Smaller weights will create a smaller chicken and use less yarn, while the opposite is true for heavier weight yarn - the fabric needs to be tight, so consider going down at least 1 needle size)
